New releases here at Lava Glass feature the collections of Lynden Over – Glass Artist.  New pieces of original art include the popular Hangi Stones and Volcanic Tear Drops  – glass art that is inspired by the volcanic nature of the region.

The Tectonic Teardrop Series - Forces distorting and folding the Earth's crust take on a linear form in the Tectonic Teardrop. In this series Lynden Over continues his artistic exploration of the geological landscape of New Zealand. which is  shaped by the power and motion of the Pacific and Australian tectonic plates.

Gemstones - A jewel-like glimmer. A crystalline secret captured in glass.

Rourou Series - Hatched glass strips echo the woven flax of the Maori rourou - a small, four-sided basket made to contain food. In an often-quoted Maori proverb the rourou is used to illustrate the importance of sharing gifts and resources: Your food basket, My food basket, Together feed the tribe.
